Dr. Hassan Ayariga is the Founder and Leader of All People’s Congress. Dr. Hassan Ayariga has a remarkable record of leadership and experience in business that embodies an unwavering passion and commitment to service.
Hassan was born on 4th September 1972 in Bawku in the Upper East Region of Ghana. His father, Hon. Frank Abdulai Ayariga, was a Member of Parliament for
the Bawku Constituency during the Third Republic under Dr Hilla Limann, a great leader and a philanthropist who served his country very well. His mother, Hajia Anatu Ayariga was a businesswoman and also a philanthropist.
He is a kusasi by tribe. Born from a royal family from Tinsungo in the Upper East region of Ghana. His Grandfather, Adure, was a great warrior and (Trader) businessman.
Mr. Hassan Ayariga started his primary school career in Panda preparatory school in Bawku in the upper East region of Ghana. Due to movement of his parents from Bawku to Accra, he and his siblings later continued their primary school education at Cambridge preparatory school in Accra, Ghana, after his parents moved from Bawku to settle in Accra.
yariga spent his childhood in Bawku and Accra, Ghana. After the overthrow of Former President Dr. Hilla Limann administration by Flt Ltn J. J Rawlings in 1981, Mr. Hassan Ayariga together with his siblings and parents went into exile to settle in Zaria, kaduna state Nigeria.
In Nigeria, he attended Barewa College in Wusasa, Zaria Kaduna state of Nigeria where he had his first secondary education. In 1987, Hassan and his parents moved back to Ghana to continue his secondary education at Ghana Secondary School, Tamale. At Ghanasco, he obtained his O Level certificate in 1990/1 and A levels certificate in 1991/2. After six form, Ayariga moved to live in Koln, Germany in 1993.
While in Germany, he studied the German language and several courses to educate himself for the challenges ahead. In Germany, Hassan Ayariga started working at a very young age. He started working as an accountant with WaffenSchmidt GmBH in Leverkusen, Germany and then as Quality Control manager at Peter Huppertz Ford motors in Koln Germany for 10 years before going into his own business.
Hassan Ayariga lived and worked in Germany for many years and has business interests in both Ghana and Germany. While in Germany, Mr. Ayariga has employed and empowered many people of African descent into various roles and institutions. He was one of the first African to have chain of businesses in Germany including Hallo Pizza, a pizza brand in Germany.
He is currently the chairman and CEO of Hassan Ayariga & Co. Haulage Company and Chief Executive of Clean Up Ghana Ltd, a waste management company in Ghana. Mr. Hassan Ayariga has several other businesses and business interests in Ghana.
Hassan Ayariga had his first degree from Atlantic International University, Honolulu Hawaii USA. He also has an Executive MBA in Governance and Leadership. Mr. Hassan Ayariga is an Accountant and hold a Phd from Reagan International University, USA. Dr. Hassan Ayariga is also conferred with a honorary doctorate degree in Political Science with several awards from various universities in Ghana and abroad .
Dr. Hassan Ayariga started his political career way back in his youthful age in Bawku. Born from the Imoro Egala tradition, he never left his roots. He became the first European chairman of the People National Convention (PNC) in Germany.
In 2004 he contested for the vice chairmanship of the PNC but later withdrew to support his Uncle the late Hon. John Ndebugre. In 2012, Dr. Hassan joined the race to contest for the flag bearer position of the PNC. He defeated five-times flag bear of the PNC, Dr Edward Nasigri Mahama to become the youngest flag bearer and Presidential candidate at age 40 in a presidential election in Ghana, a record he holds till date.
Along side former President John Mahama and then candidate Nana Akufo Addo in the 2012 Presidential election, Dr. Hassan Ayariga demonstrated his commitment and dedication to rule Ghana one day when given the opportunity, in the interest of all Ghanaians. Dr Hassan achieved these through the proposal of several policies and solutions to our country’s challenges. He made those proposals during and through presidential debates, campaign events, television appearance, youth engagement
campaigns and manifestos presentations.
In the Presidential Primaries of the People’s National Convention (PNC) for the 2015 general election, Dr. Ayariga Lost to Dr. Edward Mahama, whom he defeated to become presidential candidate in 2012. Citing Electoral malpractices as the cause of his defeat, he left the PNC to form a new Political Party, the All People’s Congress (APC) in 2016. The electoral commission of Ghana later handed the party a final certificate after he met the requisite requirements.
Dr. Hassan Ayariga is the founder and leader of the All People’s Congress Party (APC) .The party since it’s formation in 2016 has remained one of the active political party in Ghana and has since participated in all political elections in Ghana.
Dr. Hassan Ayariga is an Accountant, a businessman, a philanthropist and a politician who has an amicable understanding of our current economic situation and the required solutions going forward. Hassan Ayariga is a visionary leader who has a remarkable track record in human transformation and growth, as can be seen in the successes of his numerous businesses.
Hassan Ayariga is married to Mrs. Anita Naa Ashame Ayariga, a business woman and a graduate from the University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana. They have three beautiful daughters and two sons. Dr. Hassan Ayariga live in Accra the capital city of Ghana with his family.
